I've been involved in music since I was a toddler, have been a professional musician for a couple of decades, and got involved in the fitness industry a few years ago. Hey Sunshine is my way of combining some of the most important facets of my life, and I can't wait to share them with you!

I initially got started in the fitness industry in 2017, when I started teaching POUND classes at a fitness studio in Woodbridge. I eventually started teaching barre and spin classes there as well. In a surprising turn of events, I realized that I love coming up with challenging barre tracks, and enjoy the added adventure of finding great songs to use. I'd been kicking around the idea of doing an online barre video subscription series for a while, so when an opportunity presented itself, I decided to go for it! I've also completed the Barre Above Level 2 certification, and am always on the hunt for new elements to incorporate into my tracks and classes. Most recently, I became a certified personal trainer (ISSA-CPT), and am excited to continue on my fitness journey.

If you've never taken one of my barre classes before, here's the deal: I generally choose a song, block out the structure, and create choreography that lines up with the changes in the music. People in my classes will hear a song and recognize it as "that lower ab track" or "the diamond plie track." This means that I rotate favorite tracks in and out of my classes - and now with this online format, you can do the same thing! Want to really work on your core and glutes? Choose the tracks from the archives that focus on those areas. Only have time to squeeze in a 15-minute workout? Build your own custom class from the archives! You'll always have plenty of tracks to choose from, and I've made sure that there's a variety of different movements and targeted muscle groups as well. 

If you're new to barre in general, it's a great workout. My choreography isn't very "dancy" and I don't use complicated sequences - instead, I like to focus on having great form, building endurance, and really digging deep for those tiny micro pulses. Barre is a wonderful way to increase your muscular endurance and get in a really effective, low-impact workout. I hope you love these tracks as much as I do!
